This year's Giving Hearts Day is February 11th!
Following the pandemic, nearly 40% of Moorhead students are in need of food assistance. That's 2 out of 5 kids in our schools experiencing hunger. MLEF provides milk and snack to students in need so they can learn at their greatest potential. Please schedule your Food For Thought gift today or give on Feb. 11th at www.GivingHeartsDay.org. Thank you!

WHO WE ARE
Moorhead Legacy Education Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the continued excellence of the educational experience for all students and graduates of Moorhead Area Public Schools ISD 152.
MLEF is a newly merged entity between Moorhead Schools Legacy Foundation (founded in 2015) and Moorhead Area Education Foundation (founded in 1990). Since 1991, MAEF's Spud Scholars has awarded over $2 Million to 2,000 Moorhead High graduates. Both MLEF and MAEF have awarded annual Spud Impact teacher grants totaling $3,000 - $9,000 each year. And MSLF has made great strides in providing milk and snack break for elementary students in the district by raising funds for their Food For Thought program. MSLF has also procured funds and historical memorabilia for Spud History, while engaging with alumni and reunion organizers. Together as MLEF, we will strive to impact past, present and future students of the district.
Our goal is to support and enhance the ever-changing needs of students, programs and facilities to shape the future of our school district, and the future of Moorhead High graduates in the form of scholarships to make an impact on their lifelong learning. Supporters like you will make it happen.

- Moorhead Legacy Education Foundation Impact Fund: Our endowment supports educational initiatives that require ongoing funding. A stable, permanent source of income, the endowed fund allows the foundation to support building and classroom enhancements, scholarships, and long-term, district-wide needs and visionary programming. Contact us for more information about our endowment with FM Area Education Foundation.
- Our newest initiative, Spuds Care: MLEF has been asked to help facilitate donations of masks for students in need. About 7000 cloth masks are needed. The Minnesota Dept. of Health will provide 3 disposable masks for each student, but those reserves will deplete quickly. Cloth masks can be delivered to Probstfield Center for education, and monetary gifts can be made on our giving page using the Spuds Care button. Email for more information or look for our Facebook event.
